Within the framework of the directives of HE Governor Abbas to develop the health system of public and central hospitals within Monofya and raise the efficiency of medical services provided to citizens, Dr. Nassif Al-Hefnawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia stated that a cardiac catheterization unit was established in Ashmoun General Hospital at a total cost of EGP 12 million for the treatment of heart conditions.

Dr. Osama Al-Fayoumi, Director of Ashmoun General Hospital, explained that 27 catheterization operations (diagnostic and stenting) have been performed since the unit was operated on 12/10/2019 till now by consultants from the National Heart Institute. He stressed that the all operations (ministerial decisions and waiting lists) conducted have been free of charge.
